Vietnam is seeing a major surge in Russian tourism, with 742,000 Russian visitors arriving in the first half of 2026 — already more than the country welcomed from Russia during the entire record year of 2025.
According to Vietnam’s tourism industry, around 690,000 Russian tourists visited Vietnam in all of 2025. By the end of June 2026, that figure had already climbed to 742,000, putting Russia in third place among Vietnam’s largest international tourism markets, behind China and South Korea.
The strong growth has been supported by improved air connectivity between Russia and Vietnam. Airlines have expanded direct services, while tour operators have also increased charter and package-tour capacity to Vietnam’s popular beach destinations.
Nha Trang remains the leading destination for Russian travelers, with strong demand also reported for Phu Quoc, Mui Ne, Da Nang and other coastal destinations. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are more popular among independent travelers looking to combine city sightseeing with a beach holiday.
Russian tour operators are reporting particularly strong growth in bookings. Intourist said sales of Vietnam tours increased by 231% year-on-year, while other major operators have also reported a sharp rise in demand for Vietnam packages.
The trend is expected to continue through the rest of the year. Industry forecasts suggest that Vietnam could welcome around 1 million Russian tourists in 2026 if the current pace of growth continues.
