🗿 Cham Sculpture Museum — 1,000 Years in Stone

Among Da Nang museums, the oldest museum was built by the French in 1915.
It is the world’s only museum dedicated exclusively to Cham art.
Inside, over 2,000 sandstone, terracotta, and bronze pieces span from the 5th to the 15th centuries.
Additionally, there are 12 national treasures among them.
The Bodhisattva Tara, often called the Eastern Mona Lisa, stands in her alcove.
Quiet galleries, no crowds, and a thousand years of Hindu mythology carved in stone.

🏡 Ho Chi Minh Museum & Military Zone 5 — Two Museums, One Ticket

A 50,000-square-metre complex that combines two completely different experiences. The Ho Chi Minh Museum holds personal items, letters, and a full-scale replica of the stilt house where he lived, complete with a fish pond. The Military Zone 5 Museum displays MiG fighter jets, tanks, anti-aircraft guns, and an AK-47 that saw 50 combats. 🏛️ Da Nang Museum — A Colonial Palace with 3D Films

Housed in a neoclassical palace from 1900 that once served as the French Governor’s Palace, this is the newest of the three museums — it reopened here in March 2025. Inside: 3,000 artefacts across three floors, covering prehistoric settlements, the wars, and the cultural life of ethnic communities. 🗺️ How to Do All Three in One Morning
Start at the Cham Museum when it opens at 7:30 AM. You’ll have the galleries to yourself for the first hour. Then walk or take five minutes to the Da Nang museums, which open at 8:00 AM. It offers a tour through the city’s history. Finish at the Ho Chi Minh Museum & Military Zone 5. The outdoor military hardware is best seen in the late morning before the heat peaks. All three are in Hải Châu District, within a short ride of each other. The total morning cost is under 150,000 VND (about $6).
