Two of the month’s previous anchors — ITE HCMC and the National Day holiday period — have both shifted into September for 2027, so this guide focuses on what is actually confirmed for August itself, plus general seasonal planning.
Hanoi’s month-long Beverage Festival has run in both August 2025 and August 2026, and looks set to continue its August pattern in 2027, though organizers had not published exact 2027 dates at the time of writing.
Da Nang and Hoi An traditionally host a packed calendar of local cultural festivals throughout August — in 2026 alone that included a first-ever Ngoc Linh Ginseng Festival, a Vietnam–Korea cultural festival, Hoi An Creative Week and several smaller village and heritage festivals. Da Nang’s tourism authority typically only confirms the following year’s festival calendar a few months ahead, so treat 2026’s lineup as an example of what the month usually looks like rather than a preview of 2027’s exact dates.

Based on its pattern in 2025 and 2026, it is reasonable to expect an August 2027 edition, though the exact dates should be confirmed closer to your trip.

Da Nang & Hoi An — What to Expect
Da Nang and Hoi An are consistently among Vietnam’s busiest destinations for local festivals in August, even though the specific lineup changes every year. In August 2026, the region hosted the first-ever Da Nang International Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Herbs Festival, the Da Nang–Republic of Korea Festival, Hoi An Creative Week, and a series of smaller community and heritage festivals in villages around Tay Giang, Dai Binh and the Marble Mountains area.
These events are organized by Da Nang’s tourism authority and local communities and are typically only confirmed a few months ahead, so there is no reliable 2027 schedule to publish yet. If you are visiting Da Nang or Hoi An in August 2027, check the official Da Nang festivals and events calendar closer to your travel dates — the region reliably has something running, even if the exact festival names change year to year.

What Moved to September 2027
ITE HCMC — now a September event
Date: September 9–11, 2027 (officially confirmed)
Location: Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City
Type: Travel trade show / Tourism

National Day Holiday — also fully in September this year
Date: September 2–5, 2027 (proposed)
Location: Nationwide
Type: Public holiday
Vietnam’s National Day is always September 2. In 2026 that fell midweek, so the official holiday period was extended backward to start on August 29. In 2027, September 2 falls on a Thursday, and the Ministry of Home Affairs’ proposed schedule gives civil servants and public employees four consecutive days off from Thursday, September 2 through Sunday, September 5, 2027 — entirely within September, with no bridge back into late August this time.
