The additional capacity will bring the group’s total supply to nearly 725,000 seats during the National Day travel period.

Vietnam Airlines Group, which includes Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and VASCO, plans to operate more than 3,600 flights. That figure is around 25% higher than last year.

Connectivity expansion for Vietnam Airlines routes

The additional flights will support routes connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

They will serve Da Nang, Cam Ranh, Hue, Da Lat and Phu Quoc, and Vietnam Airlines National Day flights 2026.

Demand for domestic flights has risen since the beginning of August.

Vietnamese travelers are preparing for the five-day National Day holiday from August 29 to September 2.

We expect short domestic trips and visits to family to be especially popular during the break.

This trend aligns with Vietnam Airlines National Day flights 2026.

For international visitors already traveling in Vietnam, the extra capacity could make it easier to move between major destinations during one of the busiest travel periods of the year. However, popular routes may still sell out quickly, so booking ahead remains advisable.

Two More Flight Changes to Know

Vietnam Airlines is also making two other changes to its network in August.

From August 16, the airline will launch its Ho Chi Minh City–Colombo route earlier due to demand.

Additionally, this aligns with Vietnam Airlines National Day flights 2026 expectations.

From August 19, VASCO will resume the Can Tho–Da Lat route with one daily round trip using an ATR 72, aligning with the schedule for Vietnam Airlines National Day flights 2026 to support regional travel across central highland routes today.

Additionally, the restart comes shortly after Lien Khuong International Airport in Lam Dong is scheduled to reopen, improving access for visitors and boosting local tourism, while airlines adjust timetables to accommodate the change in the coming weeks nationwide and regionally.
